FAQs

Q: Why is there in the immunizing peptide a Methionine in the position of the Isoleucine according to ADH protein sequences?

A: At the time of design the protein sequence was not as well characterized and only later was the M replaced by the I

Q: Is there cross-reactivity of this antibody between the different ADH proteins?

A: Yes, for this is a pan-ADH antibody. It is meant to recognize all ADH proteins and isoforms in human.

Here is a match between the immunizing peptide (derived from the N-Terminus) with the different ADH proteins in Human:

EB06599:  STAGKVMKCKA
ADH1A:      STAGKVIKCKA
ADH1B:      STAGKVIKCKA
ADH1C:     STAGKVIKCKA
ADH4:        GTKGKVIKCKA
ADH5:         M-ANEVIKCKA
