Q: the epitope of your antibody is aa49-62 of the FXIII A-subunit. Is this a neoepitope which is only exposed upon thrombin cleavage of FXIII? If that is the case, does your antibody specifically recognise ONLY activated FXIIIa and does not cross-react with the non-activated FXIII zymogen?
A: According to Uniprot is the propeptide to residue 38. Our antibody therefore will react to the N-terminal part of the activated protein, but it will obviously also recognize the precursor in denatured conditions.
